## Getting Started
2020-05-12 12:46:38 +07:00
2020-10-30 04:21:47 +07:00
There are two ways to get started:
2020-05-12 12:46:38 +07:00
2020-10-30 04:21:47 +07:00
1. Using the [install script ](./install.sh ), which automates most of the process. The script uses the system package manager (if possible)
2. Manually installing code-server; see [Installation ](./doc/install.md ) for instructions applicable to most use cases
2020-06-05 03:31:01 +07:00
2020-10-30 04:21:47 +07:00
If you choose to use the install script, you can preview what occurs during the install process:
2020-05-20 10:41:28 +07:00
```bash
2020-05-28 02:48:03 +07:00
curl -fsSL https://code-server.dev/install.sh | sh -s -- --dry-run
2020-05-22 02:17:02 +07:00
```
2019-09-19 01:21:38 +07:00
2020-10-30 04:21:47 +07:00
To install, run:
2020-05-12 12:46:38 +07:00
```bash
2020-05-22 04:10:29 +07:00
curl -fsSL https://code-server.dev/install.sh | sh
2020-05-12 12:46:38 +07:00
```
2020-10-30 04:21:47 +07:00
When done, the install script prints out instructions for running and starting code-server.
